The Sims 4 folder remains after you've uninstalled the game. It should download the game without needing any patches as it picks up the patches as it's downloading and installing on your computer. The disc version is the same as the digital version. That's why it shows up in the Games Library tab and why it skips the game code when installing the game. Also Origin keeps note that you've registered the game when you purchased it. The game codes for the games are stored in the Windows registry. Download and install Origin on your computer and the games should be in the Games Library tab in Origin.
So you won't loose access to the games you have purchased. Sims 4 and other EA/Origin games are connected to your Origin account. Move the game or other user folders to new drive. Uninstall the Game / Uninstall a Pack? / Install a Pack So you don't have to re-download all of it later. However, see this link if you want to back up Sims 4 game installation files. These instructions assume you'll need to re-download the game before installing.
